Stuart Croft Returns
Stuart Croft Returns is the first monograph to focus on the influential artist-filmmaker Stuart Croft (1970 – 2015). It includes a catalogue of the 17 moving-image artworks which the artist made between 1998 and 2014.
Croft’s work forms a dialogue between the gallery and the cinema, and he used the tools of scriptwriting, acting and cinematography to investigate the subjects of recurrence, power and desire.
Original texts by Deborah Levy and Darian Leader are included, along with lectures that were first written and presented by Croft to illustrate the key concepts of his practice and his writing and production processes.
Stuart Croft Returns is published by Arnaud Desjardin, The Everyday Press, in partnership with the Stuart Croft Foundation.
The book is edited by Emma Bennett and designed by Margherita Sabbioneda.
