The Education Award

The Stuart Croft Foundation provides awards to support post-graduate students (MA and Doctoral research candidates) to conduct specific aspects of their film practice.

Please read the guidelines prior to applying:


One award of £2,500 is available towards the costs for a film artwork produced whilst the applicant is in post-graduate education or within one year of graduating.

Award applications for the Education Award will be considered for:
  • Artists moving image (for gallery/cinema/site specific/other)
  • Short fiction film production
  • Short documentary production
  • Visual essays
  • UK-based students
Applications will NOT be considered for:
  • Undergraduate student productions
  • Travel
  • Projects taking place outside the UK
  • Curated group or solo exhibitions
  • Programmed touring screenings
  • Festivals and events
  • Publications and catalogues
  • Academic research
  • Research and development towards larger-scale projects
  • Symposia

Please note that other SCF award strands may fund some of the above.
