Stuart Croft was an innovative artist whose moving-image practice involved the language of genre cinema, appropriation and circular narratives. The Foundation’s mission is to make accessible the legacy and archive of artist-filmmaker Stuart Croft, to exhibit his moving-image works, and to provide grants for new moving-image productions, research, publications and exhibitions.

Award Scheme

The 2019 Stuart Croft Foundation Awards are now closed for applications. The awards offer support to artists, filmmakers, researchers, and curators working in and between the gallery, and will be announced in early Spring.

Stuart Croft

Originally trained as an artist, Croft made an extraordinary body of films over a 17 year period. He was also a well-respected educator, having founded the Moving Image Studio at the Royal College of Art, London.
